About Vumble

Vumble turns your everyday trips into two numbers: how much CO₂ they produce compared to going by car, and how many calories you burn along the way.

Your data stays with you

Vumble has no server. Everything is calculated and stored on your device. On Android, the app does not even hold the permission to access the internet.

Where the numbers come from

The CO₂ figures come from the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt) (comparison of average emissions of individual modes of passenger transport, reference year 2024, calculated using TREMOD 6.71B). Given in grams of CO₂ equivalent per passenger kilometre, including emissions from energy supply.

Calorie expenditure is estimated using MET values and depends on speed, duration and your body weight. Such estimates are inherently imprecise — treat the number as a guide, not a measurement.

No official figure exists for e-scooters; the value used there is our own estimate.
